We’re sad to hear about the bombing attacks in Boston today (and we’re thinking of you, Boston!).

Because we believe in the power of good, here are 3 ways to add some good into the world through photography.

1) 100 Cameras empowers kids through photography.

2) Help Portrait provides portraits to people who might not otherwise be able to get one.

3) Photo Philanthropy links up photographers with nonprofits to drive social change.

Yesterday 3/15/2013, right before sunset a fire broke out on Central Avenue in Bradley Beach. The fire consumed three homes and was a 5 alarm fire. Bradley Beach, Belmar, Ocean Grove, Avon by the Sea and Neptune all showed up to fight the blaze.Luckily the fire didn’t spread and no one was killed. These photos show what is left of the homes.

This is HUGE!

Panoramas just got a big new view on Tumblr. Try it on your blog, the Dashboard, and the latest iPhone/iPad app too!

This works automatically for super-wide (3:1) high-res (1000px wide) photo uploads. And theme developers can now style panoramas in Tumblr themes with the {block:Panorama} tag.

Using a home-made mixture of bioluminescent resin, Miya Ando meticulously coated a thousand leaves and floated them in a small pond. During the day, the coating absorbed light energy from the sun.

Once night arrived, each leaf could be seen emitting miraculous hues of blue and purple.
